Continuous product evolution

In 2004, EMR/EHR systems were emerging but not yet widely adopted. Healthcare staff had limited computer proficiency. Clinicians needed a simple, secure way to receive, manage, and share their medical documents — not another complex enterprise system.

How It Worked
Practice Dashboard
01
Practice Dashboard
Each practice logged in to a personalized home view — new documents from transcription, quick-access shortcuts, and at-a-glance counts per physician. Designed for staff with limited technical background.
Document Management
02
Document Management
The full document lifecycle in one view — sorted by physician, patient, type, and status. Staff could track what arrived from transcription, what needed review, and what had been sent out.
Document Delivery
03
Secure Document Delivery
Select documents, choose recipients from a directory of physicians across practices, and deliver — either to their Scriptase account or via fax. The workflow that made Scriptase a communication layer, not just storage.
Dictation Upload
04
Dictation & Recording
Physicians recorded dictation via phone lines or digital recorders. Staff uploaded audio files directly into Scriptase for transcription processing — closing the loop from voice to finished document.
